The other $250,000 is given to a charity of the winner’s choice.

$250,000 is given to the NFL and United Way’s digital character education program, Character Playbook. The winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year receives $500,000 in donations that will be distributed in their name. I’m humbled by this recognition and energized to continue to improve the lives of those most at risk at home and around the world.

In an effort to reduce barriers to equal opportunity, this year the Eagles Social Justice Initiative awarded 460,000 in grants to 24 local non-profit organizations.
